The questions everyone asks.
What's this going to cost me?
It depends on what gets built, and we are not going to pretend otherwise — but you will never get a surprise. The first conversation is free. After it you get a written fixed price for a defined piece of work, and you decide before anything starts. Three things move the number: how many systems have to talk to each other, how much of your process only exists in someone's head, and how quickly you need it. A single piece of automation usually lands well below what people expect. A system the whole business runs on costs what those cost, and we would rather show you that figure early than ease you towards it.
How long before I see something working?
Usually two to three weeks. We build in stages, and the first stage is deliberately the smallest piece that is useful on its own, so you are clicking around in something real long before the whole thing is finished. Small jobs are one stage and that is the entire timeline. Big ones still show you something in those first weeks — just not all of it at once.
What happens if it doesn't work out?
Every stage is scoped and priced on its own, so the most you ever have at risk is the stage you are in. Stop at the end of any of them and you keep everything built so far, still running, with the code and the accounts in your name. There is no minimum term and no exit fee. If we are the ones who got it wrong, fixing it is on us — that is what a fixed price is for.
Who owns the code at the end?
You do, and not only at the end. The code sits in a repository in your name from the first day of the build, along with the hosting, the domain and every account we set up for you. Hand it to another developer next year, or bring it in-house, and everything they need is already yours. We keep nothing back as a bargaining chip.
Do you do ongoing support?
Yes, and it is optional. Some businesses want a monthly arrangement that covers updates, small changes and someone to ring when something breaks. Others take the handover, run it themselves, and come back when they want something new built. Both are fine. What we will not do is build software that needs us in order to keep working.
